Motorcycle Locksmith Blackburn North
Blackburn North fills the strip of 3130 between Springfield Road and the Koonung Creek, and Ostan Locksmiths works all of it as a mobile motorcycle locksmith. Most bikes here live under a carport or behind a roller door and only see the road at commuting hours. We bring the key cutting, transponder programming and ignition repairs to that driveway, that shopping centre bay or that freeway-side kerb.
- Blackburn Square, Springfield Road or your own carport
- Lost keys cut and coded beside the bike, no transport needed
- Two wheels only: motorcycles, scooters and mopeds

What Brings Us to Blackburn North
Jobs up here cluster around the shops, the freeway run and the driveways in between. These four cover the bulk of what we are asked to fix.
Blackburn Square Car Park
North Blackburn Shopping Centre at the corner of Springfield and Williams Roads is where half the suburb ends up on a Saturday, and bikes tuck in near the entrances. Keys get left on counters, dropped in trolleys or simply vanish. Park where you are, ring us with the entrance you are nearest, and we cut and code a new key beside the bike.
Weekday Commuter Mornings
The freeway entrance a few streets north makes Blackburn North a commuter suburb, and a bike that refuses to turn over at seven in the morning wrecks the whole day. We take calls from that hour and can often work while you sort out a backup plan. Ring with the make, model and year and we will tell you the soonest we can be at the driveway.
Carports and Rear Roller Doors
Post-war brick homes around Koonung Road and Middlefield Park mostly park bikes under a side carport or behind a roller door at the end of a shared drive. Locks left out in that weather grow stiff, and a spare key hidden years ago is rarely where anyone remembers. We work in the carport itself, so nothing has to be wheeled anywhere.
Stops Along the Koonung Trail
Koonung Creek Reserve runs the length of the northern boundary, and the car parks and trail entrances off it are handy places to stop, stretch and lose a key in the grass. There is no street address out there, which is fine. Describe the entrance, the bridge or the bay you are at and we will come to that point with everything needed.

How Our Blackburn North Callout Works
Three steps, and the bike never leaves the spot it is in.
1. Call and describe
Call 0410 380 354 and tell us the bike, the problem and where in Blackburn North it is parked. We confirm a price before we travel.
2. We come to Blackburn North
We travel to the bike wherever it sits in Blackburn North — kerbside, car park, laneway or driveway. Nothing needs towing.
3. Ride away
We check ID and proof of ownership, cut or program the key or repair the lock, then test it before we leave.
Shared Drives, Court Ends and the Freeway Edge
Access in Blackburn North is mostly about what sits behind the front fence. Blocks were subdivided decades ago, so a lot of addresses are unit two or three at the end of a common driveway, and the bike is usually parked past the last carport. That costs nothing in time if we know before we arrive, but it can add half an hour of hunting if we do not.
Streets along the freeway edge are also cut by the sound wall, so several of them dead-end where a map suggests they continue. Give us the cross street as well as the number and we will approach from the side that actually connects. If you are at the shopping centre or a reserve car park instead, the entrance name and level are all we need to find you.
Common driveways
Plenty of addresses here are units behind units. Tell us the unit number and roughly how far back the bike sits so we walk in with the right gear.
Shopping centre bays
Blackburn Square has entrances on both Springfield and Williams Roads. Name the one you parked near and we will meet you at the bike rather than circling the car park.
Dead-end streets
The sound wall stops several streets short of where they look like they end. A cross street saves us a lap of the neighbourhood on the way in.
Gates and locked yards
If the bike is behind a locked side gate, be there to open it. We check ownership and photo ID with you before any key is cut.
Worth knowing: Have the registration certificate in front of you when you ring. The exact model and year decide which key blanks and programming equipment we load before leaving.

Blackburn North Motorcycle Locksmith FAQs
Can you get to a bike parked inside Blackburn Square?
Yes. The centre car park is open ground for us and we work beside the bike in its bay. Let us know which entrance you are closest to, because the Springfield Road and Williams Road sides are a long walk apart. If the centre is about to close, say so on the phone and we will factor that into what we tell you.
I snapped the key off in the ignition. Is the barrel ruined?
Not usually. A snapped blade is a common job and the broken half normally comes out without damaging the barrel. We extract it at the bike, check the wafers for wear and cut a fresh key to the lock. If the barrel itself has already worn past a sensible point, we can replace it and code the new keys so one key still runs everything.
Do I have to be at home for the visit?
Someone with authority over the bike does. We need proof of ownership before a key is cut, so photo identification and the registration certificate or a purchase receipt should be on hand. Beyond that it is a short job in your own driveway. If the bike is behind a locked gate or in a shared garage, whoever holds that key needs to be there too.
Does a Honda with H.I.S.S. need a dealer?
No. H.I.S.S. is Honda’s immobiliser, and the chip that talks to it lives inside an ordinary cut key rather than a fob. That means two steps beside the bike: we cut the blade to match your lock, then program the chip so the immobiliser accepts it. Give us the model and the build year on the phone and we will confirm what we can do before we set out.
Is a moped or a scooter too small a job for a callout?
Not at all, they are a solid part of the work. Scooters and mopeds have their own quirks, particularly seat locks, under-seat storage catches and fuel caps that sometimes run on a different key from the ignition. We carry blanks for the common Vespa, Piaggio, Honda and Yamaha machines and we do the whole job where the scooter stands, whether that is a carport or a shop bay.
