Specialist Motorcycle Locksmith

Michael works only on motorcycle, scooter, moped and trail-bike locks and keys, rather than cars, homes or commercial premises.

Mobile Service Across Australia

Motorcycle key cutting and programming equipment comes to the bike at the confirmed Australian service location.

Complete On-Site Service

Key cutting, transponder programming, replacement keys and ignition lock repairs are handled at the bike.

Verified Ownership Required

Before cutting or programming any key, Michael checks identification and proof of ownership.

How to get hold of Michael

Call Ostan Locksmiths on 0410 380 354, or email Michael@ostanlock.com.au. Use the same details in the quote form if you prefer a written reply.

Call when the bike is immobile

Ring 0410 380 354. It is the fastest way through, and it is the right one if the bike cannot be moved or you are standing next to it right now. If the bike is down in a locked car park or behind a gate, say so, so Michael arrives able to get to it.

Email when it is not urgent

Write to Michael@ostanlock.com.au when nothing is stranded. Put the make, model and year on the first line, then what the bike is doing, and the first reply answers the question instead of asking for detail.

Use the form on this page

It reaches the same inbox as an email. The message box is free text, so put the make, model and year in it, and where the bike is. Use it if you would rather type than talk, or if you are writing outside those hours.

What people usually call about

Most calls are one of these: every key lost, a replacement key, a spare cut, a key programmed to the immobiliser, an ignition barrel that has stopped turning, or a scooter or moped. The work is mobile, done where the bike is standing. If you are not sure which it is, just describe what the bike is doing.

There is no address on this page. There is nothing to visit and nothing to tow.

Most contact pages end with a map and a street number. This one cannot, because there is no workshop, no shopfront and no yard behind Ostan Locksmiths. There is nowhere to drop the bike off and nobody standing by to take it in, so there is no reason to load it onto a trailer or arrange a tow.

The address that matters is the one you give on the phone. Wherever the bike has stopped is where the work happens, because the tools, the key blanks and the programming equipment all travel there. Michael comes to the bike, across Australia.

Where Michael comes to

Ostan Locksmiths provides mobile motorcycle key and lock services across Australia. The bike’s location, access and key system determine the callout.

Major service locations include Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Newcastle, Canberra, Sunshine Coast, Wollongong, Hobart, Geelong, Townsville, Cairns, Toowoomba, Darwin, Ballarat, Bendigo, Albury–Wodonga and Launceston. View all service areas.

Not a job for Michael

Some keyless systems, including Kawasaki KIPASS, BMW Keyless Ride and Ducati Hands-Free, run on a proximity fob rather than a chipped cut key, and a few of those stay dealer-only. Say what the bike is when you ring and you get a straight answer, and the about page explains why.

What to have ready when you call

None of it is complicated, and having it in front of you is the difference between one call and three. It is also what a price on the phone depends on. Start with the bike.

And what proves the bike is yours

No key is cut until Michael has seen photo ID and something showing the bike is yours. That applies to every job, regular customers included.

What happens after you get in touch

This is what happens between the first call and someone arriving at the bike.

1

Michael answers

The phone goes to Michael, not to a call centre or a dispatcher, so the details you give on the call are not passed along to anyone.

2

Whether it is a job for him

The make, model and year, and whether any key still exists, usually settle it. If it turns out to be a car, a door or a mechanical fault rather than a lock or key, you are told on the call, not after someone has travelled.

3

Price confirmed before he travels

The price is settled on the call, and Michael tells you the soonest he can get to you. Nothing is quoted at the kerb after the fact. The about page sets out the callout step by step, including the ID check at the bike.

4

If you wrote instead of ringing

The form and an email both land in Michael’s own inbox, not an office one. He reads them himself between 7am and 10pm and comes back to you by email or by phone. Nothing is booked and nobody travels until the price is settled on the call.

The person who takes the call is the person who turns up. There is nobody else to hand the job to and no subcontractor sent instead.

Questions before you call

Call. Phone 0410 380 354 and you can describe the bike while you are standing next to it, which is faster than a round of emails. Email suits questions that can wait, or a bike that is safely parked at home. If it cannot be moved, ring.

Michael takes calls between 7am and 10pm, any day of the week. Outside those hours the phone is not answered and there is no overnight number, so use the form on this page instead and it will be in his inbox when the day starts. Inside those hours, a call that rings out usually means he is beside another bike, so try again shortly or send the form.

Yes. Those six are where most of the work sits, and the service is mobile across Australia. What decides it is where the bike is standing and whether Michael can reach it that day, so lead with your suburb when you ring and you get a straight answer before anything is booked. The service areas page lists the coverage in full.

Yes, and that is how it is meant to work. Michael confirms the price with you on the phone, once he knows the make, model and year, whether a key still exists, and what the bike is doing. If the bike turns out to need a dealer or a mechanic instead, you are told that on the call and nobody travels at all.

No, there is nowhere to drop it off to. Ostan Locksmiths has no premises and no workshop, so there is nothing to visit and nothing to trailer the bike to. Michael comes to wherever the bike has stopped, and if your suburb is a stretch you are told that on the phone before anyone travels. Leave the bike where it is.

Speak to the person doing the work

Michael answers it himself, 7am to 10pm, any day. Tell him what the bike is and where it is standing, and he will take it from there.

Open 7am to 10pm, seven days.
