Box Hill Situations We Turn Out For
Box Hill runs hard from early morning to late at night, and the callouts reflect that. These four are the ones we see week after week.
Lost Somewhere in Box Hill Central
Box Hill Central swallows keys at a rate all of its own. Between the food halls, the market and two levels of shopping, a key can leave a pocket without anyone noticing until they are back at the bike. Ring us from where the bike is parked, whether that is a street bay or the centre's own parking, and we work there.
Hospital Shifts on Arnold Street
Box Hill Hospital works long rosters and a lot of its staff ride in, because a bike parks where a car cannot. Walking out at the end of a shift to find no key in the locker is a particular kind of misery. Tell us which street or staff area the bike is in and we come to it, evenings included.
Apartment Basements and Bike Cages
The towers along Whitehorse Road and Station Street store bikes in basement cages and podium levels behind boom gates and fobs. None of that is a problem as long as we can get in. Mention the level, the cage number and how the gate opens when you ring, and arrange for someone to meet us if a resident fob is needed.
Students and Delivery Riders
Between the TAFE campus on Elgar Road and the delivery trade around the centre, Box Hill has a great many small scooters doing hard work. They cover long hours and get little maintenance, and their barrels wear quickly. Whether it is a lost key, a seized ignition or a broken seat lock, we sort it where the scooter stands.

How Our Box Hill Callout Works
Three steps, and the bike never leaves the spot it is in.
1. Call and describe
Call 0410 380 354 and tell us the bike, the problem and where in Box Hill it is parked. We confirm a price before we travel.
2. We come to Box Hill
We travel to the bike wherever it sits in Box Hill — kerbside, car park, laneway or driveway. Nothing needs towing.
3. Ride away
We check ID and proof of ownership, cut or program the key or repair the lock, then test it before we leave.
Clearways, Boom Gates and Multi-Level Car Parks
Box Hill is the hardest suburb in this part of Melbourne to describe a location in. Multi-level car parks have several entrances and identical-looking floors, the interchange has bus lanes and taxi ranks around it, and Whitehorse Road is a clearway at peak. The more precisely you can place the bike, the less time we spend walking a car park looking for it.
Level, colour of the signage, nearest lift or stairwell, the shop you entered through: any of that helps. For a bike behind a boom gate or in a residents’ cage, we need someone able to let us in. Once we are standing at the machine the job is the same as anywhere else, and we confirm a price on the phone before we travel.
Multi-level car parks
Give us the level and the nearest lift or stairwell. Those two details save more time than anything else you can tell us on the phone.
The transport interchange
Bus lanes and ranks ring the station. Name the street frontage you are on and we will approach from a side of the block that works.
Tower basements
Bike cages sit below the towers. We need the level, the cage and someone with a fob to bring us through the boom gate at street level.
Whitehorse Road clearways
Peak hour clearways change where we can stop. Off-peak visits to bikes on the main road are simpler for everybody, so ring as early as you can.
Worth knowing: Photograph the bay marking or the level sign before you walk away from the bike. In a large car park it is the fastest way to send us to the right spot.
Not sure we can reach your bike?
Describe the spot and we will tell you straight away. We work Box Hill every week and very little surprises us. Call 0410 380 354.

Box Hill Motorcycle Locksmith FAQs
I cannot find my key and the bike is on level three of a car park. Can you get to it?
Yes, we work in car parks constantly around Box Hill. Send us the level, the nearest stairwell or lift and the colour and make of the bike, and photograph the bay marking if you can. We arrive with everything needed to read the lock, cut a blade and program a chip, and none of it requires the bike to be moved.
My bike is in an apartment bike cage. Will you come down there?
We will, provided someone can let us through. Basement cages under the Box Hill towers usually need a resident fob for the boom gate and often a second one for the cage itself. Arrange to meet us at the entrance, tell us the level and cage number, and we do the whole job down there without the bike coming up to the street.
Can you cut a key for a scooter that came with no paperwork?
Often, yes. Where papers are missing we work from the bike itself: the lock provides the code, and the compliance plate or engine and frame numbers tell us what we are dealing with. We do ask for proof that the machine is yours before we cut anything, which is standard for any locksmith working on a vehicle at the roadside.
The steering lock has jammed with the bars turned. Is that fixable on the street?
Usually it is. A steering lock that will not release is either a worn mechanism, a bent or damaged key, or an ignition barrel that has failed while engaged. We diagnose which on site and deal with it there, freeing the lock and then servicing or replacing what caused it. The bike stays exactly where it is throughout, kerbside or in a car park.
Do you cover Box Hill in the evening as well as during the day?
The phone runs from 7am to 10pm, seven days, and Box Hill evenings are busy for us because so many people here finish late. If you are standing next to the bike at half past eight, that is a perfectly normal time to ring. Outside those hours nobody picks up, so call back after 7am rather than waiting for a callback.
Box Hill Bike Going Nowhere?
In a Box Hill Central car park, a hospital staff bay or a basement cage under a Whitehorse Road tower, we come to you. Call 0410 380 354.
