The station near me changed. Does that affect how you find my bike?
Only in how you describe the spot. Surrey Hills and Mont Albert stations were replaced by Union Station when the line was lowered, and a few local streets no longer join up the way they used to. Give us a street name and the nearest cross street instead of naming a platform, and we will take a route that actually works from where we are.
My key has started needing a wiggle before it turns. Should I wait?
Waiting usually costs more effort later. A key that needs coaxing is telling you the barrel is worn, and wear does not reverse itself. Servicing the ignition while it still turns is a short visit at your address. Once it stops turning altogether, or the blade snaps inside it, the same problem becomes a barrel replacement and a new key to match.
Can you program a transponder key for a modern bike at my house?
Yes. Programming happens at the bike, using equipment carried in the van, so a driveway on a Surrey Hills side street is as workable as anywhere. Yes, and it happens often around here. The older blocks between Canterbury Road and Mont Albert Road have rear lanes and garages that open onto them. We park somewhere sensible on the street, walk the equipment in and do the whole job at the bike. Let us know if a gate needs unlocking so someone can meet us there.
