Motorcycle Locksmith Southbank
Ostan Locksmiths is a mobile motorcycle locksmith working Southbank 3006. Almost every bike here lives underground, in a tower basement behind a fob door and a boom gate, or parks briefly around Crown, the arts precinct and South Wharf. We come to the bay, the ramp or the kerb, cut keys from the lock, program transponders and repair ignitions on site.
- Tower basements and stacked parking are routine for us
- Crown, the arts precinct and South Wharf all covered
- Motorcycles, scooters and mopeds only, never cars or homes

Where We Get Called in Southbank
Southbank is vertical living stacked over a hotel and entertainment precinct, and the callouts follow that shape. These four cover most of what we see here.
Tower Basements, Level by Level
Bikes in Southbank live on basement levels two, three and four, behind a fob door, a boom gate and sometimes a cage. A key lost down there leaves the bike blocking a numbered bay the building manager will eventually ask about. Tell us the tower, the level and the bay when you call and we bring the whole job down the ramp to the bike.
The Casino and Hotel Strip
Between Crown, the hotels along Queensbridge Street and the restaurants on the promenade, plenty of keys go missing on a night that started well. If the bike is in a hotel or casino car park, valet and security will usually cooperate once you explain, and we work in those car parks regularly. Have your parking ticket or room details handy when you call.
Evenings in the Arts Precinct
The Arts Centre, Hamer Hall and the Recital Centre pull crowds down St Kilda Road and Southbank Boulevard most nights of the week, and a key that went into a coat pocket at interval does not always come out again. The bike can stay exactly where you parked it while we come to the kerb and cut a new key beside it.
South Wharf and the Convention Centre
Exhibitions and conferences at the convention centre mean riders parking early, walking away for ten hours and coming back tired. Add the DFO crowds on a weekend and South Wharf produces a steady run of lost keys and jammed ignitions. We reach the wharf easily, so give us the building or the car park entrance and we will meet you at the bike.

How Our Southbank Callout Works
Three steps, and the bike never leaves the spot it is in.
1. Call and describe
Call 0410 380 354 and tell us the bike, the problem and where in Southbank it is parked. We confirm a price before we travel.
2. We come to Southbank
We travel to the bike wherever it sits in Southbank — kerbside, car park, laneway or driveway. Nothing needs towing.
3. Ride away
We check ID and proof of ownership, cut or program the key or repair the lock, then test it before we leave.
Boom Gates, Ramps and Underground Bays
The lock is rarely the slow part of a Southbank job. Getting to the bike is, because nearly every address involves a lobby, a fob door, a boom gate or a ramp that spirals down several levels. None of it stops us, but it changes what we need to know before we leave, and a resident or a building manager usually has to let us through the first door.
When you call, name the tower and the street entrance rather than just the street, because several buildings here share addresses that confuse navigation. Tell us the basement level, the bay number if there is one, and whether you can meet us at the gate. Those three details are the difference between a clean job and a long wait in a lobby.
Fob doors and boom gates
Nearly universal in Southbank. Arrange to meet us at the entrance or have the concierge expect us, and the rest is straightforward.
Deep basement levels
Level three and below is common here. Tell us the level and bay so we walk down with everything the job needs in one trip.
Hotel and casino car parks
Crown and the hotels run controlled car parks with their own security. Your ticket or room number smooths the way in.
City Road and the kerbs
Kerbside work on City Road, Power and Kavanagh Street is fine. We stay in the parking lane and clear of the traffic.
Worth knowing: If the bike is in a stacker or a cage, say so on the phone. It changes how we position ourselves to work, though rarely whether the job can be done.

Southbank Motorcycle Locksmith FAQs
My bike is on basement level three of a tower. Can you actually work down there?
Yes, underground bays are where most of our Southbank work happens. We carry the cutting and programming equipment down to the bike, so the level itself makes no difference. What matters is access: arrange for us to get through the fob door or boom gate, tell us the level and bay number, and the rest proceeds like any kerbside job.
The key went missing during a night at Crown. Where do I even start?
Start by calling us with where the bike is parked, whether that is the casino car park, a hotel car park or a kerb nearby. Car park security are used to this and will generally cooperate once you show your ticket and identify the bike. We come to the bay, confirm ownership, then cut and program a new key beside the bike.
I ride a Kawasaki with KIPASS and the fob is gone. Is that beyond a mobile service?
No, but it is a different job to a standard key. KIPASS is a proximity fob system with a separate mechanical emergency blade rather than an ordinary cut transponder key, so replacing it involves the fob electronics as well as the blade. Tell us the exact model and year on the phone and we will explain what is possible on site for your bike.
Do I have to be standing next to the bike when you arrive?
You need to be there for the job itself, because we check photo ID and proof of ownership before any key is cut, and in Southbank we usually need you to get us through building security as well. If you are still on your way, we can time the visit so we arrive together rather than waiting in a lobby.
Can you tell me what the job will cost before you head over?
Yes, and we always do. Give us the make, model and year plus what has happened, whether that is a lost key, a snapped blade or an ignition that will not turn, and we confirm a price on the phone before we travel. The price we agree on the phone is the price at the bike.
