Motorcycle Locksmith Docklands
Ostan Locksmiths is a mobile motorcycle locksmith working Docklands 3008. Almost every bike here sleeps below ground, in a tower basement off Collins Street, Merchant Street or NewQuay, and the rest sit out on the windy kerbs by the water. We ride the lift down with the gear and cut keys, program transponders and repair ignitions right where the bike is parked.
- Tower basements reached with the lift, fob and level sorted first
- Marvel Stadium nights and the Harbour Esplanade kerbs
- Motorcycles, scooters and mopeds only, never cars or homes

Where We Get Called in Docklands
Docklands is a suburb of towers, water and one very large stadium, and the callouts divide neatly along those lines. These four are the ones we see most.
Under the Towers at NewQuay
Most bikes in Docklands never see the street. They live on level two or three of a tower car park off NewQuay Promenade, Merchant Street or Village Street, behind a boom gate and a fob. That is ordinary ground for us. Arrange building access, tell us the level and bay number, and we bring the equipment down in the lift and work beside the bike.
Full House at Marvel Stadium
On a full house at Marvel Stadium the streets between Bourke Street and Harbour Esplanade empty a whole crowd at once, and a key that slipped out of a jacket pocket inside the ground is not coming back. Stay with the bike and call us. We plan the approach from whichever street is still moving and carry the gear the last stretch on foot if the kerbs are jammed.
Salt Air Off Victoria Harbour
Bikes kept near the water get a harder life than most. Wind funnels along Harbour Esplanade, salt sits on everything, and after a few winters an ignition barrel starts binding, a seat lock stops releasing or a fuel cap refuses to turn. That is repair work rather than key work, and we do it at the kerb: strip the barrel, sort the mechanism and get the bike turning again.
Bikes Left on the Grid All Week
A lot of Docklands riders park on Monday morning and barely look at the bike again until Friday, either in a workplace bay off Collins Street or on the kerb near Batmans Hill Drive. The trouble surfaces at the end of the week, after dark, when the key has gone missing somewhere between an office, a gym bag and a train. We come to that bay and sort it there.

How Our Docklands Callout Works
Three steps, and the bike never leaves the spot it is in.
1. Call and describe
Call 0410 380 354 and tell us the bike, the problem and where in Docklands it is parked. We confirm a price before we travel.
2. We come to Docklands
We travel to the bike wherever it sits in Docklands — kerbside, car park, laneway or driveway. Nothing needs towing.
3. Ride away
We check ID and proof of ownership, cut or program the key or repair the lock, then test it before we leave.
Basement Levels, Boom Gates and Windy Kerbs
Docklands is the only suburb we work where the hardest part of a job is usually getting into the building rather than into the bike. Nearly every tower has a boom gate, a fob controlled lift and a car park that runs several levels down. None of that stops the work, because the whole job happens beside the bike, but it does mean access needs sorting on the phone rather than at the gate.
Above ground the problem flips. The promenades, the park edges and the stadium surrounds have plenty of parking and very few useful street numbers, so a bike described as being near the water could be anywhere along a kilometre of waterfront. Give us a building name, a berth, a restaurant you are standing outside or a tram stop, and we will drive straight to it instead of circling.
Level and bay number
Tower car parks here run several floors down and every ramp looks the same. The level and bay number save us a long walk with heavy gear.
Fobs, gates and lifts
Building access is the one thing we cannot arrange ourselves. Have someone meet us at the boom gate or the lobby, or leave word with the concierge.
Waterfront kerbs
Along Harbour Esplanade and the promenades there are no house numbers. Name the pier, the berth or the building you are standing beside and we will find you.
Stadium turn-out
When a game or a concert has just finished, say so. We approach from an open street and walk in rather than sitting in the crawl on Footscray Road.
Worth knowing: Have the registration papers in front of you when you ring. The model year tells us which blanks and which programming equipment need to be in the van.
Not sure we can reach your bike?

Docklands Motorcycle Locksmith FAQs
My bike is on level three of the building car park. Can you work down there?
Yes, and that is where most Docklands jobs happen. We bring the equipment down in the lift and do the whole thing beside the bike in its bay. All we need from you is a way in, so arrange for someone to meet us at the boom gate or the lobby, and tell us the level and bay number when you call.
A concert has just let out at Marvel Stadium and my key is gone. What now?
Stay with the bike rather than walking off to look for the key. Tell us the nearest cross street or stadium gate and whether the kerbs around you are still blocked. We come in from whichever street is moving and carry the gear the last stretch on foot, then cut a new key from the lock right there beside you.
The fuel cap lock on my scooter has seized since I moved down here. Is that fixable at the kerb?
Usually, yes. Wind and salt off the water get into fuel cap locks, seat locks and ignition barrels, and what starts as a stiff turn ends as a lock that will not move at all. We strip and repair the mechanism beside the bike where it can be saved, and fit a replacement barrel where it cannot. Describe the symptom on the phone and we will bring what suits.
My bike uses a proximity fob rather than a key. Does that change anything?
It changes the approach. Systems like Kawasaki KIPASS, BMW Keyless Ride and Ducati Hands-Free work from a fob in your pocket, and each carries a separate mechanical emergency blade for when the fob fails or goes missing. We deal with both halves: the mechanical side cut on site, and the electronic side handled according to what your model allows. Tell us the make, model and year when you call.
Do you cover Southbank and West Melbourne from the same call?
Yes. Ostan Locksmiths is mobile right across Melbourne, so Docklands, Southbank, West Melbourne, North Melbourne and Port Melbourne all sit inside the same daily run. Ring us between 7am and 10pm any day of the week, tell us where the bike is and what it is doing, and we will confirm a price on the phone before we travel.
