Stop turning it and call. A broken blade left in the barrel can usually be extracted at the kerb without pulling the ignition apart, and we then cut a fresh key from that same lock and code the chip if your bike uses one. If the barrel itself has worn far enough to break a key, we will say so and talk you through repairing or replacing it on the spot.
The bike is in the shared car park behind my block. Can you work there?
Yes, and we do most weeks. Shared rear car parks are normal in Ascot Vale and nothing needs to be pushed out to the street for us. Generally yes, with a bit of planning. Event days bring fencing, traffic control and closed side streets around Epsom Road, so we need to know the nearest gate and which corners you saw shut. We approach from the closest open street and carry the equipment the last part on foot if that is what it takes. Calling before the crowd leaves makes it easier for both of us.
