What Brings Us Into Travancore
A suburb this compact has its own quirks: hard to describe addresses, apartment parking and a freeway along one edge. These are the four calls we field most from Travancore riders.
Addresses the Maps Get Wrong
Half the mapping apps still file Travancore streets under Flemington or Ascot Vale, which sends tradespeople to the wrong side of Mount Alexander Road. That does not happen with us, because we already work this pocket. Say the street name and the closest cross street and we will be at the right block first time, without a phone call from three suburbs away asking where you are.
Basements Under the Newer Blocks
The apartment buildings along the southern edge park their bikes downstairs, behind a roller door or a boom gate, often on a level below the cars. We work down there without any trouble as long as someone can let us in. Mention the level, the bay number and whether a fob is needed, and we arrive knowing exactly how far we are carrying equipment.
Shift Changes at the Hospital Campus
The Royal Children's Travancore campus and the surrounding services run staff in and out at set hours, and a fair few of them ride. Discovering the key has gone at the end of a shift, with the next one starting soon, is a bad way to finish. Ring us and we will be honest about when we can get there and what we can sort out at the bike.
Kerbs Along the Freeway Wall
Several Travancore streets run out at the freeway noise wall, leaving quiet dead ends where residents park bikes and scooters overnight. It is a good place to leave a machine and an awkward one to describe over the phone. Give us the street and tell us you are at the wall end, and we will drive straight in and set up beside the bike.

How Our Travancore Callout Works
Three steps, and the bike never leaves the spot it is in.
1. Call and describe
Call 0410 380 354 and tell us the bike, the problem and where in Travancore it is parked. We confirm a price before we travel.
2. We come to Travancore
We travel to the bike wherever it sits in Travancore — kerbside, car park, laneway or driveway. Nothing needs towing.
3. Ride away
We check ID and proof of ownership, cut or program the key or repair the lock, then test it before we leave.
Tram Kerbs, Roller Doors and Dead End Streets
Travancore is small enough to walk across in ten minutes, but that does not make it simple. Mount Alexander Road carries trams and heavy traffic along one side, the freeway seals off the other, and most of the residential streets in between are narrow, one way in practice and full of parked cars. Everything we do happens beside the bike regardless, so none of it stops the job going ahead.
The most useful call gives us a street number, the nearest corner and one detail about where the bike sits: front kerb, rear yard, or a basement under the building. If a roller door, boom gate or fob stands between us and the machine, tell us up front so access is arranged before we leave rather than worked out while we stand outside. We confirm a price on the phone before we travel.
Apartment basements
Newer blocks park their bikes below ground. Give us the level and the bay number, and arrange for someone to open the door or gate for us.
Tram side kerbs
Mount Alexander Road is busy and the tram line is close. We work on the footpath side of the bike and keep clear of the traffic lane.
Streets that dead end
Several roads stop at the freeway wall. Say which end of the street you are on so we come in from the side that connects.
Older walk up flats
Blocks along the older streets share one rear yard. Let us know if the bike is chained and to what, so we bring the right approach.
Worth knowing: Have the registration papers beside you when you ring. Model and build year decide the blank, the chip and the programming equipment that come out with us.
Not sure we can reach your bike?
Describe the spot and we will tell you straight away. We work Travancore every week and very little surprises us. Call 0410 380 354.

Travancore Motorcycle Locksmith FAQs
My address shows as Flemington on most maps. Will you still find me?
Yes. Travancore is a genuine suburb with its own boundaries, even though plenty of systems fold it into Flemington or Ascot Vale. We work this pocket often enough to know which side of Mount Alexander Road each street sits on. Give us the street name, the number and the nearest corner and that is enough, whatever the postcode lookup on your phone decides to call it.
The bike lives in a basement under my building. Can you get down there?
We can, provided someone lets us in. Basement and undercroft parking is normal in the newer Travancore blocks and we would rather work down there than have you wheel a dead bike up a ramp. Tell us the level, the bay number and whether entry needs a fob or a call to building management, and we sort that out before setting off rather than on arrival.
Can you replace a lost key while the bike is chained to a rack?
In most cases, yes. A chain through the wheel or frame does not stop us reading the ignition lock, cutting a blade to match and programming a transponder where the model needs one. If your chain lock also needs opening, say so when you ring, because that is a separate job and we will tell you honestly whether it is something we can help with.
What do you need to know before you set out?
Four things. The exact make, model and build year from the registration papers; where the bike is parked and how we get to it; what has actually gone wrong, whether that is a lost key, a snapped blade or a barrel that will not turn; and a phone number we can reach you on. From that we confirm a price on the phone before we travel and load the right gear.
Are scooters and mopeds covered too, or just motorcycles?
All three, and only those three. Scooters and mopeds make up a solid share of the work in this part of Melbourne, and their ignition barrels, seat locks and fuel cap locks fail in ways we see constantly. Whether it is a 50cc commuter parked outside a flat or a big touring bike, the service is the same: we come to it and work where it stands.
Key Gone Missing in Travancore?
Kerbside on Cashmere Street, down in a basement or at the freeway end of the block, we come to the bike. Call 0410 380 354 any day between 7am and 10pm.
