Motorcycle Locksmith Seaholme
Ostan Locksmiths is a mobile motorcycle locksmith working across Seaholme 3018. It is a small pocket of streets between the railway line and the bay, and the bikes here sit in driveways, single garages and beside the Esplanade with the wind coming straight off the water. We drive to yours and cut lost keys, program transponders and repair ignitions on the spot.
- Driveways, single garages and Esplanade kerbs across the whole pocket
- Salt-affected ignitions sorted beside the bike, with no tow

Where We Get Called in Seaholme
Seaholme is small enough that we know its patterns. Four situations account for most of the calls that come in from these streets.
Salt Air and Stiff Barrels
Living a few hundred metres from the bay has a cost, and ignition barrels wear it first. Salt in the air finds its way into the lock, the key starts needing a wiggle, then one morning it will not turn at all. Call while it is still stiff rather than after the blade snaps inside, and we service or repair the barrel in your driveway.
The Station Street Commuter Park
Plenty of Seaholme riders only use the bike to get to the station, then leave it locked near Station Street until the evening train drops them back. Coming home to a key that has fallen out somewhere between the platform and the office is a common way to lose a night. Stay with the bike and we will meet you there and cut a replacement from the lock.
Foreshore Rides and the Coastal Park
The path along Altona Coastal Park pulls riders down to the foreshore on any decent weekend, and keys go missing in the sand, the grass or a jacket pocket that was not zipped. Wherever you have stopped along the Esplanade, tell us the nearest cross street and stay put. Everything happens at the kerb, so the bike never leaves the spot you parked it.
Single Garages and Side Gates
Most houses here were built with one narrow garage and a side gate, so the bike often ends up squeezed beside the car or parked out the back on a strip of concrete. That is fine by us, because we bring the workshop to the bike rather than the other way around. Unlatch the gate, point us at where it stands, and we work in the space we are given.

How Our Seaholme Callout Works
Three steps, and the bike never leaves the spot it is in.
1. Call and describe
Call 0410 380 354 and tell us the bike, the problem and where in Seaholme it is parked. We confirm a price before we travel.
2. We come to Seaholme
We travel to the bike wherever it sits in Seaholme — kerbside, car park, laneway or driveway. Nothing needs towing.
3. Ride away
We check ID and proof of ownership, cut or program the key or repair the lock, then test it before we leave.
Quiet Streets, Sea Wind and Narrow Side Access
Seaholme is one of the easier suburbs in the west to work in. The streets are quiet, parking is rarely a fight and there is usually room to set up beside the bike without anyone having to move a car. The one thing worth mentioning on the phone is side access, because a lot of the older houses here have a gate too narrow for anything but walking the gear through.
Give us a street number where you can, or the nearest corner if the bike is down by the water. Have the make, model and year read straight off the registration papers, because that decides which blanks and programming equipment come with us in the van. We confirm a price on the phone before we travel, so the number is settled before anyone starts work.
Driveways and front kerbs
Nearly every Seaholme job happens on a driveway or the kerb outside it. We work beside the bike and keep the footpath clear for people walking past.
Narrow side gates
If the bike lives out the back behind a gate, say so when you call. We carry the equipment through on foot and work where the bike stands.
Station Street parking
Bikes left near Seaholme station are simple for us to reach. Tell us which side of the line you parked on and roughly how far along.
Exposed foreshore kerbs
The Esplanade catches the wind straight off the bay. We set up with the van as a windbreak so nothing small goes missing part way through.
Worth knowing: Salt does its damage slowly here. If the key is already hard to turn, mention it when you call and we will bring what a barrel repair needs.
Not sure we can reach your bike?

Seaholme Motorcycle Locksmith FAQs
Can you make a key if I have lost every one for my bike?
Yes. That is the job we do most. We take the code from the bike’s own lock at your address, cut a fresh blade to match and then program the transponder if your model uses one. Nothing is towed and nothing leaves your driveway. Tell us the make, model and year when you call and we will confirm what the bike needs and what it costs before we set out.
Does living this close to the bay really affect the locks?
It does, and Seaholme riders notice it sooner than most. Salt-laden air works into the ignition barrel, the seat lock and the fuel cap, and the wafers inside start to bind. The first sign is a key that needs jiggling. Left alone, the barrel eventually seizes or the blade breaks off inside it. We can clean, service or replace the barrel at your place while it still turns.
The bike is parked at Seaholme station and I am still at work. What now?
Ring us on the way home and we will time the visit for when you arrive. We would rather meet you at the bike than work on a machine with nobody around, and you will want to ride away as soon as the key is cut anyway. If you get there first, stay with it. The whole job happens in the parking area beside the platform, then you ride home.
Is a scooter treated any differently from a full size bike?
No. Scooters and mopeds get the same on-site service: keys cut from the lock, spare keys, transponder programming where one is fitted, and repairs to seat locks, fuel caps and ignition barrels. On a scooter the seat lock usually protects the helmet space and the battery as well, so losing that key shuts you out of more than the ignition. Give us the make, model and year and we will confirm what is possible.
When can I reach you if the key disappears on a Sunday afternoon?
The phone is answered from 7am to 10pm, seven days, so a Sunday is no different from a Tuesday. Ring as soon as you know the key is gone rather than waiting until Monday, because a bike left along the foreshore overnight attracts the wrong kind of attention. Outside those hours the phone is simply not answered, so try again once we are back on it in the morning.
Stuck Without a Key in Seaholme?
In the driveway, behind the side gate or parked along the Esplanade, we come to the bike and finish the job there. Call 0410 380 354 and we will tell you the soonest we can reach you.
