Motorcycle Locksmith Parkville
Parkville 3052 runs on shift work and study. Between the hospitals on Flemington Road and Grattan Street, the residential colleges along Royal Parade and the parkland stretching out to the zoo, most bikes here belong to somebody mid rotation or mid semester. Ostan Locksmiths drives to the bike, cuts keys from the lock, programs transponders and repairs ignitions where it is parked.
- Hospital and college car parks entered with access arranged first
- Royal Park callouts found by landmark, not street number
- Lost keys, spares, programming and ignition repair beside the bike

Michael works only on motorcycle, scooter, moped and trail-bike locks and keys, rather than cars, homes or commercial premises.
Motorcycle key cutting and programming equipment comes to the bike at the confirmed Australian service location.
Key cutting, transponder programming, replacement keys and ignition lock repairs are handled at the bike.
Before cutting or programming any key, Michael checks identification and proof of ownership.
Where We Get Called in Parkville
Hospitals, colleges and a very large park set the pattern here, and so do the hours people keep around them. These four are the calls we take most.
Between Shifts at the Hospitals
The hospitals along Flemington Road and Grattan Street run right through the night, and plenty of the bikes in their staff bays belong to people who have just worked twelve hours. Finding a dead key at the end of that is the last thing anyone needs. Leave the bike in its bay and ring us. We come into the car park with the gear and sort it there.
Colleges and Bikes Left Standing
The residential colleges along Royal Parade fill and empty with the academic year, and bikes get left standing for weeks at a time in college car parks and racks. Locks stiffen while nothing moves, and keys go missing over a break. We come into the grounds, cut a replacement from the lock and free up a barrel that has gone tight while it sat.
Royal Park on an Event Weekend
Royal Park, the zoo and the sports fields pull crowds through Elliott Avenue and Gatehouse Street most weekends, and bikes end up on grass verges, in gravel car parks and along the park roads. None of it has an address. Name the gate, the oval or the car park you used, and we come to that point rather than to a street number that does not exist.
The Royal Parade Commuter Run
Royal Parade and Flemington Road carry a steady stream of riders in and out of the city, and a fair few park in the service lanes for the day rather than paying to go underground. Problems turn up at knock off, in the dark, with traffic passing a metre away. We set up on the footpath side of the bike and keep the whole job clear of the lane.

How Our Parkville Callout Works
Three steps, and the bike never leaves the spot it is in.
1. Call and describe
Call 0410 380 354 and tell us the bike, the problem and where in Parkville it is parked. We confirm a price before we travel.
2. We come to Parkville
We travel to the bike wherever it sits in Parkville — kerbside, car park, laneway or driveway. Nothing needs towing.
3. Ride away
We check ID and proof of ownership, cut or program the key or repair the lock, then test it before we leave.
Swipe Cards, Park Roads and Boulevard Bays
Parkville is easy to drive in and awkward to get into. The roads are wide, the boulevards have service lanes and there is room to work beside a bike almost anywhere. What slows a job down is the layer of security around the hospitals, the research buildings and the colleges, where car parks need a swipe card or a staff escort to enter. That part has to come from your end.
The other half of the suburb is parkland, and parkland has no addresses. If the bike is somewhere in Royal Park, near the zoo or beside a sports field, a street name on its own is not much use to us. Landmarks are. Give us the gate you rode in through, the oval, the car park or the nearest building and we will come to that exact point.
Swipe card car parks
Hospital and research bays need a swipe card or a staff escort to enter. Meet us at the entrance and the rest of the job is straightforward.
Parkland with no address
For a bike out in Royal Park, name the gate, the oval or the car park. A landmark finds you faster than any street name can.
Boulevard service lanes
Royal Parade and Flemington Road bays sit right beside fast traffic. We work from the footpath side of the bike and stay out of the lane.
College grounds
Colleges usually need somebody to sign us in at the gate. Arrange that before we set off and we drive straight through to the bike instead of waiting outside.
Worth knowing: Quote the make, model and year from the papers rather than working from memory. Getting that detail wrong is what turns one visit into two.

Parkville Motorcycle Locksmith FAQs
My bike is in a staff car park at the hospital. Can you get in?
We can with a little help. Staff car parks around Grattan Street and Flemington Road usually need a swipe or an escort, and that is the one part we cannot arrange ourselves. Meet us at the entrance or have security let us through, and from there the whole job is done alongside the bike in its bay. Tell us the level and the nearest lift when you call.
Can you come out when my shift finishes in the evening?
Up to a point. The phone is answered from 7am to 10pm, seven days, which covers most evening finishes but not the small hours. If your shift ends later than that, leave the bike where it is parked and call in the morning. It is safer than trying to shift it, and we will take the details then and tell you the soonest we can get there.
My Honda uses H.I.S.S. and I have lost the only key. Can you help?
Usually. H.I.S.S. is Honda’s immobiliser, and the chip sits inside an ordinary cut key, so there are two jobs in one: a blade cut to match the lock, and the chip programmed so the bike recognises it. Both happen beside the bike in the car park or at the kerb. Give us the exact model and year on the phone and we confirm what is possible first.
The bike has sat unused all semester and the ignition will not turn. What now?
Bikes that stand still for months often seize up in the lock rather than the engine. Barrels stiffen, seat locks stop releasing, and a key that used to turn easily starts fighting back. Forcing it snaps the blade. Call us before that happens: we free and service the barrel at the kerb where there is enough of it left, and fit a new one where there is not.
The bike is parked in Royal Park with no street number nearby. How do I direct you?
Use landmarks instead. Name the nearest gate, oval, car park or path entrance, or a building you can see from where you are standing, and add the closest road: Elliott Avenue, Royal Parade or Gatehouse Street. Parkland has no addresses, so one good landmark beats a street name every time and saves us circling while you wait beside the bike.
