Motorcycle Locksmith Cremorne
Cremorne packs a lot into a few blocks: converted brick warehouses, tech offices with basement bike racks and laneways that end at a locked gate. Ostan Locksmiths works all of it as a mobile motorcycle locksmith, driving to wherever the bike is standing. Lost keys, spares, transponder coding and ignition barrel repairs happen at the kerb in 3121, with nothing towed anywhere.
- Kerbside repairs in the laneways off Cremorne Street
- Office basements and gated yards, reached on foot with the gear
- Bikes, scooters and mopeds only, no cars and no houses

Key cutting, transponder programming, replacement keys and ignition lock repairs are handled at the bike.
Before cutting or programming any key, Michael checks identification and proof of ownership.
When Cremorne Riders Call Us
Cremorne is small, busy on weekdays and quiet after six, and the jobs reflect that. These four situations account for most of what we handle inside the 3121 pocket south of Swan Street.
Weekday Bike Cages
Half of Cremorne parks underground on a weekday. The tech offices along Cremorne and Balmain Streets keep bike cages below the building, and a key that disappears at a desk means a rider stranded four levels down at five o'clock. We come to the cage, cut a replacement from the lock and code the chip there, so the commute home still happens on the bike.
Brick Warehouse Conversions
Gwynne and Green Streets are lined with old brick warehouses turned into studios and apartments, and the bikes live in what used to be loading bays. Access is usually a roller door, a shared yard or a numeric keypad nobody can find the code for. Tell us which building and who can open it, and we set up beside the bike inside rather than dragging it out to the street.
Ignition Barrels That Stick
Cremorne's short streets mean plenty of bikes sit outside all week in the weather, and worn ignition barrels start to bind. If the key turns halfway, feels gritty or needs jiggling, that is the barrel telling you it is close to done. We strip and repair it at the kerb where we can, or fit and code a replacement so one key still runs the whole bike.
Scooters on the Church Street End
The southern stretch of Church Street runs cafes, gyms and showrooms, and a lot of the scooters parked nose-in there belong to people working a shift rather than browsing. Losing the key mid-shift costs hours. Say so when you ring and we will be straight about when we can reach Cremorne and what can be sorted at the kerb without moving the scooter.

How Our Cremorne Callout Works
Three steps, and the bike never leaves the spot it is in.
1. Call and describe
Call 0410 380 354 and tell us the bike, the problem and where in Cremorne it is parked. We confirm a price before we travel.
2. We come to Cremorne
We travel to the bike wherever it sits in Cremorne — kerbside, car park, laneway or driveway. Nothing needs towing.
3. Ride away
We check ID and proof of ownership, cut or program the key or repair the lock, then test it before we leave.
Laneways, Loading Docks and Basement Gates
Cremorne is barely a kilometre across, yet it is one of the trickier pockets to drive. Streets are short, several are one-way, delivery vans block the laneways through the middle of the day and the on-street bays fill by eight in the morning. None of that affects the work itself, since everything is done beside the bike, but it does affect how long the walk from the van is, so a precise location saves everyone time.
Give us a street number if you have one. If not, the building name, the corner you are standing on or the business above the roller door all work just as well. Where the bike is behind a boom gate, in a staff car park or inside a secured office basement, mention it on the phone so building access is arranged before we set off instead of after we pull up outside.
Ex-loading docks
Old dock aprons make good workspace. We set up on the concrete beside the bike and keep the roller door clear for whoever else needs it.
Office bike cages
Most towers here rack bikes below ground level. Tell us which floor, whether the boom gate needs a fob, and who at reception is able to sign us in.
Narrow one-ways
Cubitt, Dover and Stephenson Streets get blocked by vans all day. We park where it is legal and carry the kit the last hundred metres.
After the office empties
Evenings are quieter here and far easier to park. If the bike can safely wait, a later booking often means we reach you with less hassle.
Worth knowing: Have the registration papers handy and read us the make, model and year off them. That decides which blanks and coding equipment travel with us.

Cremorne Motorcycle Locksmith FAQs
Can you get to a bike locked in an office basement in Cremorne?
Yes, provided someone can let us through the boom gate or door. We do not need the bike moved up to street level. Give us the building, the parking level and the name of whoever holds access, and we set up next to the bike underground. Basements are actually easier to work in than a windy kerb, so it rarely slows anything down.
I have lost every key to my scooter. Is that fixable on the spot?
It is the job we do most. With no key at all we read the code from the lock on the scooter itself, cut a fresh blade to match and, if the machine has an immobiliser, program the chip so it starts. Everything happens where the scooter is parked in Cremorne. Have the registration papers ready, and we confirm a price on the phone before we travel.
When can I actually get hold of someone?
The phone is answered from 7am to 10pm, seven days a week, and Michael takes the calls himself. Ring inside those hours and you will speak to the person who will be doing the work, which means you get a straight answer about timing rather than a booking clerk’s guess. Outside those hours the phone simply is not answered, so try again from seven.
Does a proximity fob system like Kawasaki's KIPASS need different work?
It does. KIPASS is a proximity system: the fob stays in your pocket and the bike also carries a separate mechanical emergency blade for the seat and steering lock. Those are two different problems, and which one you have changes the parts and the approach entirely. Tell us on the phone whether you have lost the fob, the blade or both, and we will explain what is realistic.
Is there a workshop I can visit instead?
No, and that is deliberate. Ostan Locksmiths is mobile only, so there is no counter, no yard and nowhere to leave a bike. Michael drives to wherever the machine is standing, whether that is a Cremorne laneway, a basement cage or a driveway off Green Street. It keeps the bike where you left it and takes towing out of the equation completely.
Stuck Beside Your Bike in Cremorne?
Whether the bike is in a basement cage, behind a warehouse door or at the kerb on Balmain Street, we come to it. Call 0410 380 354 and we will tell you when we can be there.
