Where We Get Called in Sunshine
Sunshine gives us steady, varied work. The same four situations account for most of it, from the shopping strip to the commuter car parks.
Hampshire Road Precinct
The strip between the station and Ballarat Road is the busiest place in the suburb to lose a key. It slips out at a counter, stays on a cafe table or disappears somewhere between shops, and the bike waits at the kerb while you retrace your steps. Stop retracing and call. We cut and program a replacement right beside the bike.
Commuter Parking at Sunshine Station
Sunshine station is a major junction now, and plenty of riders park nearby in the morning and train in to the city. Coming back to a lost key or a jammed steering lock at six in the evening is the classic callout here. Phone from the train and we will aim to be with the bike close to when you are.
Delivery Riders Between Jobs
Food delivery runs on scooters around here, and a scooter that will not start is income going backwards. Snapped keys, worn barrels and lost keys mid shift all get the same treatment, we come to where the scooter stopped and fix it there. Say you are mid shift when you call and we will be straight with you about timing.
Ballarat Road and the Campus
Victoria University's Sunshine campus and the businesses along Ballarat Road add a steady run of callouts, students and staff whose bike sat all day before refusing to cooperate. Ballarat Road itself is quick and loud, so we position the van as a buffer and work on the kerb side. Give us the nearest cross street and we will find you.

How Our Sunshine Callout Works
Three steps, and the bike never leaves the spot it is in.
1. Call and describe
Call 0410 380 354 and tell us the bike, the problem and where in Sunshine it is parked. We confirm a price before we travel.
2. We come to Sunshine
We travel to the bike wherever it sits in Sunshine — kerbside, car park, laneway or driveway. Nothing needs towing.
3. Ride away
We check ID and proof of ownership, cut or program the key or repair the lock, then test it before we leave.
Car Parks, Kerbs and a Busy Junction
Sunshine jobs are less about distance and more about pinpointing the bike. The Marketplace has large car parks, the station precinct has commuter parking scattered on both sides of the line, and Hampshire Road has angle parking and side streets. Tell us the car park, level or nearest shop rather than just the suburb, and the whole visit runs quicker for both of us.
Traffic is the other factor. Hampshire Road, Ballarat Road and Anderson Road all move constantly during the day, and we plan the run to the bike around them rather than through them. Nothing about a busy street stops the job itself. We set up beside the bike, keep clear of pedestrians and traffic, and do the cutting and programming right there.
Sunshine Marketplace car parks
Tell us which entrance or section of the car park the bike is in, and a bay number if there is one. We come to the bay and work there.
Station commuter parking
Both sides of the line have parking pockets. Name the street or the nearest platform entrance and we will find the bike without a lap of the precinct.
Hampshire Road kerbs
Angle parking and side streets are all workable for us. We keep the footpath clear and stay out of the way of the shops while we work.
Units and apartment blocks
Newer blocks near the station park bikes behind gates or in basement bays. Mention the fob or intercom when you call so we arrive prepared.
Worth knowing: Read the make, model and year off the registration certificate rather than from memory. It decides the blanks and programming equipment we load.
Not sure we can reach your bike?
Describe the spot and we will tell you straight away. We work Sunshine every week and very little surprises us. Call 0410 380 354.

Sunshine Motorcycle Locksmith FAQs
Do you cover scooters used for food delivery around Sunshine?
Yes, and they are a big part of our Sunshine work. Lost keys, snapped keys, worn ignition barrels and seat locks on delivery scooters are all handled at the kerb, wherever the scooter stopped. Tell us the make and model and that you are mid shift, and we will give you a realistic time rather than a hopeful one.
I lost my key somewhere along Hampshire Road. Where do I even start?
Start with the phone rather than another lap of the strip. A dropped key rarely turns up before the bike needs to move, and we do not need the old key anyway. We cut a new one from the lock itself and program it to the bike beside the kerb, so the search becomes optional rather than essential.
My Honda has H.I.S.S. Can you make a key for it in Sunshine?
Yes. H.I.S.S. is Honda’s transponder system, a chip inside an ordinary cut key that the bike must recognise before it will start. We cut the blade to match the lock, then program the chip on site, and the bike runs exactly as it did before. It is one of the most common jobs we do across the west.
The steering lock will not release after the bike sat all day. What now?
Do not force it, because a snapped key in a stuck steering lock makes everything harder. It is usually wear or a dry barrel rather than anything sinister, and it is fixable at the kerb. Tell us the make, model and where the bike is parked, and we will free or repair the lock on site without the bike moving.
How much will it cost to get a new key cut in Sunshine?
It depends on what the bike uses, because a plain key, a transponder key and a proximity fob are different amounts of work. Give us the make, model and year and we confirm a price on the phone before we travel, so you know the figure before anyone is on the road. Nothing is added when we arrive.
