Yes. We do not need an existing key to work from, because everything we need comes out of the bike’s own locks. We read the ignition barrel on site, cut a blade to match it, and where the model uses a transponder we program the chip so the immobiliser accepts it. Tell us the make, model and year when you ring, and we confirm a price on the phone before we travel.
Do you come out to the factory estates on Fairbairn Road?
Every week. Bikes belonging to staff and delivery riders are often parked inside a fenced yard or behind a boom gate, which is no obstacle as long as someone can let us through. Give us the business name, the gate you normally use and roughly where the bike is standing, and we do the cutting and programming right there instead of moving it out to the street.
My scooter's ignition barrel is worn and the key just spins. Fixable?
Usually, and it is one of the more common jobs out this way. Worn wafers and a tired barrel are a wear problem rather than a mystery, and we repair or replace the barrel beside the scooter. Please stop forcing the key, because a snapped blade left inside the lock turns a short visit into a much longer one. Call with the make and model and we will talk it through.
Is the bike safe left at the Glengala Road shops while I wait?
It is, and moving it usually causes more trouble than leaving it alone. Without a key the steering lock stays engaged anyway, so pushing the bike home is awkward and hard on it. Leave it in the bay, note which shop you are outside, and call us with that landmark. We come to the bay itself and everything happens there, programming included.
