MOBILE MOTORCYCLE LOCKSMITH · RESERVOIR VIC 3073

Motorcycle Locksmith Reservoir

Covering Reservoir 3073, Ostan Locksmiths is a mobile motorcycle locksmith with no shopfront and no waiting room. Michael loads the van and drives to the bike, whether it is parked outside the Broadway shops, at the Edwardes Lake end or down a driveway on one of the older streets. Keys cut from the lock, spares, chip programming and ignition work all happen where the bike sits.

RESERVOIR CALLOUTS

The Reservoir Jobs That Keep Coming Up

Reservoir is big, spread out and full of houses with room to store a bike properly, so the calls we get here look nothing like the ones from the inner suburbs.

Broadway Shopfront Kerbs

The Broadway strip has bikes and scooters nosed in along the kerb all day, and a key that disappears between the bakery and the bank leaves you stranded a long walk from home. We come to that kerb. The lock on the bike gives us what we need to cut a fresh key, and the chip is programmed on the spot so you ride away rather than push.

Snapped Keys in Old Ignitions

A lot of Reservoir bikes are twenty years old and still running, and the ignition barrel wears out long before the engine does. Keys snap in the slot, usually on a cold morning with the rider already late. We extract the broken half, assess whether the barrel can be cleaned and re-keyed or needs replacing, and cut a fresh key that turns properly rather than a copy of a worn one.

Edwardes Lake and Weekend Rides

The car parks around Edwardes Lake Park fill with riders stopping for a coffee or meeting up before a run out of town, and that is a common place for a pocket to be emptied without anyone noticing. If the key is gone and the group has moved on, ring us and stay put. We work in the bay itself, and the bike does not need to leave the reserve.

Second-Hand Bikes With One Key

Reservoir does a brisk trade in used bikes sold through the classifieds, and most of them change hands with a single key and no history at all. That one key is a problem waiting to happen. We come to your driveway, cut and code a spare from the original, and where the seller has handed over a key that barely turns we sort the barrel at the same visit.

How Our Reservoir Callout Works

Three steps, and the bike never leaves the spot it is in.

1. Call and describe

Call 0410 380 354 and tell us the bike, the problem and where in Reservoir it is parked. We confirm a price before we travel.

2. We come to Reservoir

We travel to the bike wherever it sits in Reservoir — kerbside, car park, laneway or driveway. Nothing needs towing.

3. Ride away

We check ID and proof of ownership, cut or program the key or repair the lock, then test it before we leave.

GETTING TO YOU

Long Streets, Similar Names and Deep Driveways

Reservoir covers a lot of ground, and several of its streets run for kilometres with the numbers climbing past a thousand. Add court names that repeat across the suburb and a rail line that cuts the place in half, and the address alone is often not enough to work with. A cross street solves it instantly, so have one ready when you ring and we will come straight to you.

Most bikes here live on a driveway, under a carport or in a shed at the back, which is ideal for us because there is room to work and somewhere to stand out of the weather. If the bike is in a block of units, tell us whether the visitor bays are off the street or behind a gate. If it is at the shops, name the shopfront you are standing outside.

Carports and back sheds

Room to work is the one luxury Reservoir gives us. Clear a metre around the bike if you can and we will do the rest exactly where it stands.

Long street numbers

Broadway, Gilbert Road and Cheddar Road run a very long way. Give us the nearest cross street with the number so we arrive at the right end.

Station side streets

Bikes left near Reservoir and Ruthven stations sit in permit streets. Tell us the side of the line you are on and we will find you quickly.

Units and shared bays

Unit blocks along the main roads keep bikes in shared bays. Say whether there is a gate, a fob or a resident who has to let us through.

Worth knowing: Model and year off the registration papers, please, not from memory. It is the single detail that decides which key blanks travel with us on the day.

COVERAGE

Where We Work Across Reservoir

Reservoir 3073 is one of the larger patches we cover, from the Merri Creek side across to Plenty Road. These are the places we are called to most.

Reservoir shares boundaries with Preston, Thomastown, Bundoora and Coburg North, and we cover all of them on the same run.

Reservoir Motorcycle Locksmith FAQs

Yes. We do not need an existing key or a code from an old receipt, because the information sits in the lock on the bike itself. We read it there, cut a blade to match and then program the transponder chip where your model uses one. All we need from you is the make, model and year, plus somewhere legal to park the van beside the bike.

Not at all, and it usually makes the job easier. A shed gives us shelter, a level floor and somewhere to lay tools out, which beats kneeling in a gutter on Broadway. Leave the side gate unlocked or meet us at the front, and clear enough space to walk right around the bike. If there is no power out there, we bring our own lighting.

H.I.S.S. is Honda’s immobiliser, and the chip for it sits inside an ordinary cut key rather than in a separate fob. Making a spare means cutting a blade that matches your lock and then programming the chip so the immobiliser recognises it. With one key still in hand it is a straightforward visit. Give us the exact model and year and we will confirm what your bike needs.

Someone does, yes. Cutting keys to a bike is not something we will do for a stranger over the fence, so we need the person who owns it there with photo identification and the registration papers. That protects you as much as us. If you cannot be home, arrange for another adult to be present and let us know their name when you book the visit.

The phone is answered from 7am until 10pm every day of the week, including weekends and public holidays. Ring inside those hours and Michael will pick up and talk through the bike, the key system and the price before anyone travels. Outside them the phone is not answered at all, so the practical move is to call first thing rather than sit up waiting.
