Motorcycle Locksmith Malvern
Malvern keeps its bikes tidy: behind roller doors, down bluestone driveways and in the angle parking along Glenferrie Road. When the key to one of them stops working, we drive to it. Ostan Locksmiths cuts lost motorcycle keys from the lock on site, programs transponders and repairs ignition barrels anywhere in 3144, so nothing needs loading onto a trailer.
- Kerbside work along Glenferrie Road, Wattletree Road and High Street
- Driveway and rear-lane garage visits across the quiet 3144 streets
- Bikes, scooters and mopeds only, never cars or houses

Motorcycle key cutting and programming equipment comes to the bike at the confirmed Australian service location.
Key cutting, transponder programming, replacement keys and ignition lock repairs are handled at the bike.
Before cutting or programming any key, Michael checks identification and proof of ownership.
Where Malvern Calls Come From
Malvern jobs split between the shopping strips during the day and the garages behind the big period blocks at either end of them. These four situations repeat.
Rear Lane Garages
Plenty of Malvern bikes live at the back of the block, in a brick garage reached from a narrow rear lane rather than the street. That is a fine place to work. We park where we can, walk the gear in and cut the new key at the bike, so it never has to be pushed out to the kerb for the neighbours to watch.
Commuter Bikes at Malvern Station
Riders leave bikes near Malvern Station in the morning and come back after dark to find the key gone somewhere between the office and the platform. We meet you at the rack or the kerb where the bike sits, read the lock, cut a key to match and program the chip if the model carries one. You ride home rather than catching another train.
Glenferrie Road Errands
Scooters fill the angle parking outside the shops between Malvern Central and the Town Hall, usually for twenty minutes that turn into an afternoon. Keys drop out of shopping bags, jacket pockets and cafe tables along that strip every week. Stay with the scooter, tell us the shopfront you are outside, and we handle the whole job in the bay it is parked in.
Ignitions Worn Out by the Years
A lot of bikes here are ridden on weekends and left standing the rest of the time, which is hard on barrels, seat locks and fuel caps. When a key starts needing a wiggle, or the barrel turns without doing anything, we can repair or replace it in the driveway and cut keys that suit the new lock. Ring before it strands you somewhere.

How Our Malvern Callout Works
Three steps, and the bike never leaves the spot it is in.
1. Call and describe
Call 0410 380 354 and tell us the bike, the problem and where in Malvern it is parked. We confirm a price before we travel.
2. We come to Malvern
We travel to the bike wherever it sits in Malvern — kerbside, car park, laneway or driveway. Nothing needs towing.
3. Ride away
We check ID and proof of ownership, cut or program the key or repair the lock, then test it before we leave.
Driveways, Rear Lanes and Strip Parking
Malvern is easy to drive but fiddly to park in. Glenferrie Road and Wattletree Road are clearways at peak times, the side streets carry resident permits, and many houses sit behind long driveways with a garage at the far end. None of that stops the work, because everything happens beside the bike, but it does decide where we pull up and how much gear we carry in.
Give us a street number if you have one. If the bike is down a rear lane, name the street the lane runs off and something we can see from it, like a green roller door or a jacaranda in the nature strip. For apartment blocks along Dandenong Road, tell us the level and whether the basement needs a fob, and we will sort access before setting off.
Long driveways
Most jobs here happen partway up a driveway or inside an open garage. We work where the bike stands and leave the space tidy when we finish.
Rear laneways
The bluestone lanes behind the older streets are tight and often blocked by bins. We park on the nearest street and walk the equipment in from there.
Strip angle parking
Angle bays on Glenferrie Road and High Street are short-stay and busy. We set up on the footpath side so the traffic keeps moving past the bike.
Dandenong Road blocks
Apartments along the highway keep bikes in basements and side courtyards. Tell us the level, the fob situation and the closest entry point when you call.
Worth knowing: Have the registration papers in front of you when you ring. The exact model and year decide which blanks and programming equipment we load before leaving.

Malvern Motorcycle Locksmith FAQs
I have lost the only key to my bike in a Malvern garage. Can you make one there?
Yes. We take the code from the bike’s own lock, cut a fresh blade on site and program the transponder where the model uses one, all inside the garage or on the driveway. Nothing gets towed and nothing gets collected from us, because there is no workshop; the van carries what the job needs. Tell us the make, model and year when you ring and we confirm a price on the phone before we travel.
How early can I call if the bike is needed for the morning commute?
The phone is answered from 7am to 10pm, seven days, so a call at seven is fine and usually a good time to catch us before the day fills up. Outside those hours it simply rings out, so try again once we are back on. When we speak we will be straight about the soonest we can reach the bike and what the job involves.
Can you cut a spare so this does not happen again?
Yes, and a spare is far less trouble than a lost-key job. We come to the house, cut a second key from your existing one or from the lock itself, and program it to the immobiliser if the bike has one. Keep it somewhere other than the same keyring or jacket pocket. Spares suit scooters and mopeds too, and we can do two bikes in one visit.
My BMW uses Keyless Ride. Do you work on those?
Keyless Ride is a proximity fob rather than an ordinary cut key, and the fob carries a separate mechanical emergency blade for the steering lock and seat. We can cut that blade on site from the lock, which frees the bike so it can be moved and secured properly. What is possible on the electronic side depends on the exact model and year, so tell us both when you ring and we will be plain about it.
Do you charge to come out to Malvern from wherever you are?
We confirm a price on the phone before we travel, so nothing about the visit is a surprise when we arrive. To do that properly we need the make, model and year, whether the bike has an immobiliser, and whether you have any key at all. Malvern sits well inside the area we cover every day, along with Armadale, Toorak and Kooyong, so getting here is not the hard part.
Stuck Without a Key in Malvern?
Whether the bike is in a garage off a rear lane, angle-parked on Glenferrie Road or waiting at the station, we come to it. Call 0410 380 354 and we will talk through the bike and the price before we set off.
