Motorcycle Locksmith Hampton
A lost key in Hampton 3188 does not mean a tow. Ostan Locksmiths is a mobile motorcycle locksmith, and we work wherever the bike has stopped: a bay on Hampton Street, the foreshore car parks off Beach Road, or a garage behind a period house on Ludstone Street. Keys cut from the lock, spares, transponder programming and ignition repairs, all done at the bike.
- Hampton Street, the station bays and the foreshore covered
- Salt air seizes locks, we free, rebuild or replace them

The Calls We Take in Hampton
Hampton is a beach strip, a station and streets of garages, and each of those produces its own version of the same phone call.
Hampton Street Errands
Hampton Street is the sort of strip you stop at for ten minutes and leave an hour later, and keys get put down on cafe tables, shop counters and the top of a pannier all the way along it. If yours has vanished somewhere between the bakery and the bike, stay put. We come to the bay you are parked in and cut a new one there.
Foreshore Car Parks
The car parks and paths along the Hampton foreshore see riders stop for a swim, a walk or a coffee with the bike left up on the bitumen. Sand, towels and jacket pockets take a steady toll on keys. Tell us which car park and which end of it you are in, and we will come to you rather than asking for a street number you do not have.
Salt Air and Seized Locks
Living a few streets from the water is hard on hardware. Ignition barrels, fuel caps and seat locks corrode from the inside, and the first sign is usually a key that needs more force each week until it stops turning at all. We strip and rebuild what can be saved and replace what cannot, keying the new lock to work with the rest.
Garages Behind the Old Houses
Plenty of Hampton bikes live in a single garage behind a weatherboard or a brick period home, reached down a narrow drive with a car in front of them. That is fine by us: we work in the space available and would rather squeeze in than have you wheel a heavy bike out onto the street. Say if the drive is tight so we park sensibly.

How Our Hampton Callout Works
Three steps, and the bike never leaves the spot it is in.
1. Call and describe
Call 0410 380 354 and tell us the bike, the problem and where in Hampton it is parked. We confirm a price before we travel.
2. We come to Hampton
We travel to the bike wherever it sits in Hampton — kerbside, car park, laneway or driveway. Nothing needs towing.
3. Ride away
We check ID and proof of ownership, cut or program the key or repair the lock, then test it before we leave.
Beach Road, Narrow Drives and Station Bays
Hampton is compact and easy to move around, but parking is the constant. Hampton Street fills through the day, the foreshore car parks fill on any decent weekend, and the older streets have single-width drives with a car already sitting in them. None of that stops the work happening at the bike; it just means we would rather know the layout before we arrive than discover it.
Along the beach a street number is often meaningless, so give us the car park, the nearest life saving club or a cross street on Beach Road instead. In the streets, give us the number and say whether the bike is in a garage, on the drive or at the kerb. Then read the make, model and year straight off the registration papers.
Foreshore callouts
No address is needed along the beach. The car park name, a life saving club or a Beach Road cross street is enough for us to find you.
Hampton Street bays
On the shopping strip, tell us the shop you are outside and which end of Hampton Street, and we will work at the bay you are parked in.
Narrow drives
Single-width drives are normal here. Tell us if a car has to be moved first so we can plan the visit properly rather than waiting in the street.
Station bays
Hampton station bays are simple to reach. Tell us roughly where along the platform you have chained the bike and wait with it for us.
Worth knowing: Salt does its damage slowly. If a lock has been getting stiffer for months, say so on the phone so we come prepared to rebuild rather than just cut.

Hampton Motorcycle Locksmith FAQs
My key disappeared at the beach and I have no address to give you. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Along the foreshore we work from landmarks, not numbers. The car park you are in, the nearest life saving club or a cross street where Beach Road meets the shops is enough to put us next to your bike. Stay with it if you can, and keep the bike locked, because we can read the lock and cut a key on site.
The ignition on my bike has gone crunchy since I moved closer to the water. Can it be saved?
Usually. Corrosion works from the inside out, and a barrel that feels gritty is often still rebuildable if it is caught before the wafers wear past tolerance. We strip it at the bike, clean and reassemble it, and cut a key to the restored lock. Where the corrosion has gone too far, we fit a replacement barrel and key it to suit the bike.
Can you cut a spare while the bike sits in the garage at home?
That is the easiest version of this job. A garage gives us light, shelter and room to work, and nothing has to be moved anywhere. We cut the spare from your existing key or from the lock itself, program the chip if the model carries one, then test it in the ignition, the seat lock and the fuel cap before we leave you with it.
What do you need to see before you cut a key for me?
Registration papers for the bike and photo identification in the same name. If the bike is registered to a partner or a business, we need something that connects you to it. This is standard for anyone cutting motorcycle keys at the roadside and it protects you as much as us, so have both ready when we arrive and the job runs without a hitch.
Do you also cover Sandringham, Brighton and Hampton East?
Yes, all three sit on Hampton’s doorstep and we are through this pocket regularly. The service is identical wherever the bike is: we drive to it, cut and program keys beside it and repair ignitions, steering locks, fuel caps and seat locks on the spot. Call with the street and the model, and we will confirm what is involved and the price before we travel.
